1. Professional Profile

In 2010, Northwest A&F University was approved as a professional degree authorization unit for Master of Public Administration (MPA). Based on school advantageous agricultural education resources and geographical conditions, With 11 years development, MPA education gradually formed in the grass-roots government management, resources and environmental protection management, public service management, professional direction of public crisis management, which has a distinct characteristics of case teaching and practice teaching, The College has won awards in national MPA Case Competition for many times. Currently, the case writing ranks among the top in China and passed the qualification assessment of national MPA Education Steering Committee in 2016.

At present, relying on the College of Humanities& Social Development good opderation, the mature experience and good relationship with government , colleges and universities cooperation, rich cultural atmosphere, gave full play to the advantages of discipline integration MPA education center, sharing public administration, law, sociology, economics and social work disciplines and professional teaching platform and faculty, The school of Humanities and Social Development has formed a team of full-time and part-time teachers, with professional teachers from the College of Economics and Management, the College of Marxism, the School of Language and Culture and experts from outside the school. On the premise of quality assurance, the MPA enrollment scale is also expanding. By 2021, the university has enrolled 1266 graduate students majoring in Public Administration, 811 of whom have graduated or awarded master's degree in public administration, and 429 of whom are registered MPA postgraduates.

2. Core courses

According to the requirements of the guiding training program formulated by the National MPA Teaching and Steering Committee, the basic learning period of master students majoring in public Administration in our university is 3 years, and the longest learning period is no more than 5 years. The curriculum structure of public administration major is divided into public compulsory courses, main courses in the field and elective courses according to the first-level discipline setting according to the characteristics of the school's disciplines and the cultivation idea of "knowledge-ability-quality". Core courses include: Public management, Public policy analysis, social research methods, political science, public economics, Constitution and Administrative Law, official document writing, public finance, etc.

3. Employment direction and prospects

The public Administration major of our university enrolls part-time postgraduates, most of whom come from government departments and public service management departments and return to their original units after graduation. Most of the graduates are promoted or reassigned because of their dual certificates.
