1. Professional Profile
This major is one of the earliest liberal arts majors in our school and has rich experience in running schools. In 1993, the department of Law was established, and in 1997, the department of Law was established. In 2004, the department began to recruit graduate students of Environmental and resource protection. Master of Law (Law) students will be enrolled in 2019. At present, it has trained more than 2800 senior legal talents of various kinds, and its alumni are all over the country.
The faculty are rich with experience in legal theory and practice, undertaking the national natural fund project, the national social science fund project, the province social science fund project,involving in civil code draft, the draft amendments to the trademark law, shaanxi bashan ecological environment protection measures, such as the legislative work, as the consulting experts of shaanxi provincial party committee of National People's Congress standing committee , the distinguished experts of prosecutor selection committee, national natural fund evaluation experts, etc., more than 400 academic papers were published in the domestic and international journals , more than 40 academic monographs and textbooks have been published.
2. Core courses
Laying equal emphasis on theory and practice is the core characteristic of this major. The major offers core courses such as legal professional ethics, principles and Practice of Civil law and civil Procedure, principles and practice of criminal law and criminal procedure, principles and practice of administrative law and administrative procedure, and is taught by university experts and senior judges, prosecutors, lawyers and other practical experts with rich theoretical and practical experience. To provide students with a dual perspective of legal theory and practical operation, and focus on cultivating senior legal talents who are good at both theory and practice.
3. Employment direction and prospects
Master of Law is practice-oriented. The graduates have chances to pursue the profession in party committees and government departments at all levels, legislative departments, judicial departments such as courts and procuratorates, legal departments of large enterprises and public institutions, and legal service institutions such as well-known law firms, with good employment prospects.
